Save the Cheerleader, Save the World

I get really addicted to TV shows easily. I've noticed if I watch the first two episodes of whatever series, I'll get glued. It doesn't matter how stupid the show is, or how badly it sucks in reviews- I will get addicted. It's happened way too much... 24, Lost, Alias, House, America's Next Top Model, The Hills, Laguna Beach, Sex and the City... and even A Shot at Love (dang you, Tila Tequila).

So a few days ago when Russ, Gianne and I were driving back from Milford for a wedding- I borrowed Russ' ipod to pass the time. And lo and behold... There it was... The first two episodes of HEROES. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I purposely avoided this show because I knew I'd be addicted. And I especially avoided it when it first came out. I can't watch a TV show unless the entire season is on DVD. I have no patience to wait. It drives me insane if I miss a show and end up having to wait the entire season before it reruns. No way, man. I'm the gal who will buy the dvd set and make NO plans for a weekend just to watch it all.

I did it. I watched it. I opened up my heart to the story and all of its heroic characters- good and evil... and now- I'm glued. As soon as I got home I downloaded 5 more episodes off of ITunes.... But that wasn't enough... No, not nearly. I stayed up all night (til 4:30am) and watched all of them. And the next day, I downloaded 5 more. It's not cheap. It's 2 bucks per episode and the entire season is almost 50 bucks!

It's slowly taking over. In the last 3 days I've watched more Heroes than I've played Halo3... And I know some of you may be thinking, "why's that so bad?"- but to those who know me and my Halo 3 addiction, I may be seeking some help soon. I almost crave the tv show over the game.

If you haven't seen Heroes yet, I REALLY recommend it. Not because I said so, but because it's good. It's amazing. I LOVE IT.

And now I'm off to download 5 more episodes.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

Yay! We put our Christmas Tree up on Thanksgiving night (it's a tradition in my family). It's our first one as a married couple! Our apartment has absolutely no room- and for awhile I was kinda bummed thinking we weren't going to be able to put on up this year because of the lack of space. But I went over to Roberts the night before Thanksgiving and found a really skinny one that seems to fit fine right now.

Heaven = Rice Pudding

SO- Gianne, Russ and I drove down to Milford today to photograph a wedding. On the way back, we stopped in Provo to get some grub. We ended up at a Hawaiian place (Bamboo Hut) and that was pretty good. But let me tell you what we discovered- HEAVEN. That's right. And 16 different kinds of heaven. We were about to head out of Provo when I saw a sign calling out to me, "PUDDING ON THE RICE". I remembered a coworker telling me about this place back in the summer because we were sharing our love of Rice Pudding- and conversing about how hard it was to find a good one. Then he mentioned this place... mmmmmm....

So the three of us, completely full of Hawaiian goodness, stopped by and tried some. All I have to say is that PUDDING ON THE RICE is one reason- and a good enough reason on its own- to go down to Provo. 16 flavors! And they change the flavors every couple of weeks.... coconut, tiramisu, vanilla, chocolate, lemon, raspberry.... I'd go on, but it's making me sad that this fine establishment is so far away. So much better than ice cream...

I'm thankful for many things... like food... and my weird families

So this year Russ and I went to 2 Thanksgiving Feasts as usual, his family and my family. We were STUFFED- ate a huge lunch at the Stouts (with a plentiful amount of rolls), and then a few hours later we went over to the Velez's home (my aunt and uncle) and had our Filipino dinner. Again, I wasn't in any of the photos at Russ' dad's house. And oddly enough, we have 3 photographers on my side of the family and not one photo was taken. *SIGH*

As you can see, Russ isn't the only weirdo in his family.

Summer... being VERY confused.

Family Photos

I'm starting to get more into other areas of photography. I've concentrated mostly on weddings and concert photography for the last few years, but now I'm starting to dabble in family/children portraits. I've actually got a couple gigs in line for some concerts at the University of Utah. And I've got an interview with Slug Magazine and X96 (the radio station) coming up. Here are some shots I did today, last week, and a few from the summer!

Jami's Wedding

So Jami got married recently in Park City and I brought my camera with me (of course). Here are some shots from her wedding (which was really pretty).

Sugar Gliders & Mike's Place

Russ and I had dinner at Ted & Suz's place, along with Mike and his sugar gliders. Besides the crap and the wet stuff sprayed, they were pretty interesting (the gliders, not the people).

Here are some photos from last Saturday at Mike's place. You'll notice TWO things: 1) I am always taking pictures so I'm never in them, and 2) I broke out the camera a littler later and missed some good photo ops. But here are a few.

TAG again!

This "tagging" stuff is everywhere...

Six facts about Russ and I

Fact #1: He asked for my phone number when I was 17, and waited until my 18th birthday to call and ask me out.

Fact #2: Our honeymoon was in Sonoma/Napa Valley- and it was AMAZING.

Fact #3: We love big cities- he loves Seattle and I love San Francisco.

Fact #4: We're addicted to Halo 3. No, seriously- ADDICTED.

Fact #5: He has lived in Utah his entire life (except for his mission in the Philippines for 2 years), and I've lived in 7 states (and I've moved much higher than that number).

Fact #6: Our first date was at the Hard Rock cafe & a movie at the dollar theater.
